What Services Does ZITADEL Provide?

This document summarizes the services offered by ZITADEL, distinguishing between our fully managed Cloud service and the self-hosted Enterprise license.

ZITADEL offers two main options for running its identity and access management platform:

ZITADEL Cloud:

Managed solution where our team handles hosting, maintenance, scaling, and backups, allowing you to benefit from the open-source software without the operational overhead. We focus on a single-provider strategy for enhanced security and performance.

ZITADEL Enterprise Self-Hosted:

This alternative provides the full power of our open-source software for you to host in your own private cloud or data center. This gives you complete control over your data location and sub-processors, minimizing supply-chain risks. While you manage the operations, you gain access to enterprise-supported features, personal onboarding, and a dedicated support SLA.



Regardless of your choice, your obligations are detailed in our terms of service. For both services, you remain responsible for user data and access. However, in a self-hosted setup, you assume responsibility for infrastructure, security (DDoS/WAF), backups, and external services like SMTP, SMS, and domains.
