Instance admin account locked out
This article outlines the different methods available to unlock your instance admin account
If you’re locked out of your Zitadel instance, the first step is to check whether another instance admin can unlock your account.
In some cases, instance admins log in using an external identity provider (IDP). If that external IDP becomes unavailable, all admins will be unable to access the instance. For this reason, it’s recommended to enable local authentication as a fallback, ensuring access is still possible if the IDP fails.
If you are still unable to unlock your account, please contact support to request an account unlock. Because this is a sensitive request, multiple verification steps are required. If the verification cannot be completed successfully, we will be unable to proceed.
