You can choose the primary region where your ZITADEL Cloud data is hosted. Currently supported regions include: - **United States** (us-central1-a) - **European Union** (europe-west3-c) - **Switzerland** (europe-west6-c) - **Australia** (australia-southeast1-c) The "Data Location" defines the geographic region—encompassing specific countries or territories—where your primary data resides. ZITADEL encrypts all cloud data backups and stores them within the Google Cloud Platform infrastructure in the same region as your main instance. Data in transit may travel outside the designated region if users access the service internationally. To safeguard all information, ZITADEL enforces strict technical and organizational safeguards outlined in our [Data Processing Agreement](https://zitadel.com/docs/legal/data-processing-agreement), including end-to-end encryption for data in transit and at rest. All subprocessors operate under data protection obligations and security standards at least as stringent as ZITADEL's own standards. Support and engineering personnel can access customer data only with explicit customer authorization or instruction. Access is strictly controlled through technical measures to prevent unauthorized exposure.
